Vivo is fighting to dominate the Chinese smartphone market. According to the research company Counterpoint, it managed to take the leading position in the 13th week, ahead of OPPO. This year, due to the sanctions imposed on Huawei, its place in the Chinese market has weakened significantly. And now Vivo and OPPO are fighting for leadership in the smartphone segment. Currently, Vivo has 25%, OPPO has 21%, and Huawei, which is in third place, has 15%. Vivo was considered one of the first to launch a 5G smartphone back in August 2019, and since then, Vivo has expanded its 5G lineup with flagship and more affordable mid-range models. As of February, over 76% of Vivo’s sales came from 5G models, up from 0.5% in 2019.
Vivo is also working on expanding the imaging capabilities of its devices through a strategic partnership with German optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss.
